For the Finlay Scotland rebrand the original logo was updated using a more modern typeface. The colour palette remained similar but emphasising the orange which is prominent as it’s the same as the crushers bright paintwork.
For the concept of the design the use of the minimal circle being reduced in size was to mirror the crushers function. Where the machines are designed to reduce large rocks into smaller rocks, gravel, then into rock dust. This graphic language was to convey this story of the molecules being slowly broken down.
